One of my clients  became a “one man show” suddenly when his receptionist left him on short notice. As someone who runs a busy practice and sees patients all day long, he was trying to juggle all of the tasks that also come with running a business. Without his receptionist,  he was trying to learn his software system to schedule, process payments, and bill insurance claims. He was trying to keep up with the emails, the endless phone calls and all the messages left as it’s impossible to answer the phone when you’re with a patient! The first day the receptionist was gone, he had no idea how to access his schedule, or make appointments for patients so he was guessing who would show up when.   Booking future appointments was no more than a guess, as he didn’t know when he had open slots.

7yellowClearly, he had heavily relied on his office manager to run the office while he saw patients all day. He found himself feeling overwhelmed pretty quickly! With so much to do and only 24 hours in a day he simply couldn’t keep up!  The day I walked into the office there were sticky notes completely covering the desk and paperwork everywhere! My client had ran his office like this for well over a week before we met to work on a project at his house one day when I told him i’d be happy to step in and help!

As a small business owner, I understand the stress and struggle that comes with trying to run a business.
